Unlike BOSS, LOOT scans the contents of a plugin and compares the affected locations with other plugins (so it never has unknown plugins). LOOT is devoid of the main drawback of BOSS - it recognizes all plugins, even those that you made yourself. In addition, it provides a wealth of information on installed plugins: usage notes, bugs, warnings and tags for Wrye Bash using the plugin base (masterlist) LOOT also provides some error checking in boot order, including checks for requirements, incompatibilities, and circular dependencies. It is intended to help mod users avoid conflicts between mods, automatically calculate load order that satisfies all plugin dependencies and maximizes the impact of each plugin on the game.
